How would voter ID laws prevent non-U.S citizens from voting?

In some states illegals can get a state issued ID or even a drivers license.

So change those laws.  Or make it so that those IDs are specifically labeled vs IDs for people int he country legitamitly.

If I say "papers please" that should make mention of the entire line of arguments against the direction the ID thing is going in, and what happens.  But, in this, the issues would need to be addressed in the registration process, NOT at the polls.  If you have sloppy voter registration, no amount of ID requirements will fix it.
