Maybe less big budget single player games, but there are a ton of single player games coming out all of the time. They tend to be indie games or new IPs. But the trend of an IP starting off single player for the first game and then adding multiplayer to the sequels is nothing new. This even happened on the NES. Double Dragon -> Double Dragon II, Ninja Turtles -> Ninja Turtles 2, Tetris -> Tetris 2.

As this happens we get new games that are single player such as Dark Siders, Sleeping Dogs, Witcher, The Wonderful 101 and a ton of cool indie games.

As long as there are plenty of games that retain a great single player portion, I could care less if they add multiplayer. Though I really like the co-op in RE5, since I play all of the RE and Silent Hill games with a friend anyway. This time instead of passing the controller we could play at the same time. Too bad it sound like RE6 even sucks in Co-op.
