All Major Home consoles since DREAMCAST always get launched during the holidays (Sept - December....at least in America....no exceptions.

 

However, I should preface, that Sony might even try and go longer than 2014.  Seems strange, and I'm not betting on that, but holiday 2014 isn't guaranteed either.  But it's definitely not coming before holiday 2014....that's for sure.
