They keep asking Watson, and he repeats the same thing, like nothing has changed. Again...

@IBMWatson "Will use Wii U a POWER7 CPU with WATSON technology?"

IBM Watson
‏@IBMWatson
@Xbicio @BoostFire "The Wii U is a custom 45nm #power7 chip. Same SOI design in #ibmwatson"

IBM Watson writes:

"WiiU chip clarification: It's a "Power-based microprocessor"

and

"Pardon the error. It's a custom chip built on Power Architecture base"

Looks like this old rumor still has some legs.  Interesting.

How is #1 confirmed?  That tweet didn't say what kind of CPU it was, and it WAS confirmed the very least to be the "same design in ibm watson."

Just like it was 'confirmed' to be a Power7.  The enhanced Broadway cores information came straight from the final dev kits, from more than one anonymous source.  I consider this a confirmation until another source claims the power architecture to be anything else.  There have been several sources over the past year or so that consistently point to what's in this rumor. A consistent stream of information is most important when it comes to stuff like this.
