Diamonds are a rip off and are very common in reality. De Bears (spelling?) controls the market and simply doesn't allow them to become common at retail. Additionally a very large segment go to Israel for cutting, so I simply don't buy them anyways.

Very common? Talk about hyperbole.

Diamonds were always extremely valuable. For how long have this De Bears family controlled the diamond market, and are they Jews?

Research it yourself. They've done it for pretty much ever, have their own full armies throughout the world, and I have no idea if they are Jewish or not... nor does that matter to me. Just don't spend money that goes into Israel's budget.

EDIT: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/De_Beers yep it is Jewish owned lol

So do you also boycot Intel processers since many of them are researched in Israeli facilities? Just curious of where you draw the line.

Nah. A ton of stuff has very little touch in Israel. But if its made there (diamonds are really only worth their cut and polish) then I ignore. I used to be pretty diligent about knowning this, but over the years I figure it really doesn't matter. Not a big enough ban on their products to affect them. So, unless I see "made in Isreal" then I don't really think about it. But I do also try to not support or vote for US politicians who get a lot of support from AIPAC... kinda hard as their money runs deep and fills a lot of pockets in Washington, but I try.
