Power-wise isn't important. 3DS is its competitor (primary) as well as mobiles (secondary). 3DS will destroy it overall and that is solely based on game content. This point has been proven with DS, Wii, and not 3DS. Power isn't the primary factor, its game content and overall features. Wii U doesn't have to be as powerful as the others to dominate more than Wii. It just has to have the same overall features (excluding bluray) and close enough power to garner 3rd party interest. Sony and MS should be realizing this and should focus on a system that is either grotesquely high-end (pricing them out of competition) or slightly more powerful with a lot of differentiating feautures. You're going off track here. I was speaking solely from the POV of power. Sony didn't need to take a loss on PSV because it wasn't competing with anyone graphically. Your second paragraph basically agrees with what I'm saying. The PS720 won't be as advanced over the Wii U as PS360 has been to Wii. Sure, they will likely be a bit more powerful, but not a generational difference. This, in my opinion, will actually help Nintendo. But that arguement can't really happen until Wii U is out with its fully realized featureset and we at least know something more concrete with MS and Sony's approach. |
