That's not a conservative policy... Obama has stepped up the WoD further than any recent president in recent history via raids of legal marijuana dispensaries.

It was originally started by Richard Nixon wasn't it? Who was conservative (republican) And as Obama is tougher than Bush on drugs (a mistake), wouldn't that make Obama more conservative on the war on drugs (as a single issue) than Bush?

Genetic fallacy. Its origin bear no relevance whatsoever for the issue at hand. Anyways that's how you are going to define what is a conservative policy and what's not? Is there some kind of invisible aether around the concept who makes it inherently conservative because Nixon started it? 

well a liberal would just legalise it wouldn't they? Also, Nixon was quite conservative. I can't really add to that, but conservatives generally like to crimenalise drugs and anything they can (even though, president abe lincoln and presidents before him used to grow marijuana themselves.) To me, the war on drugs is just a failed policy, that I doubt liberals would start
