You're not here to convince anyone of anything? Isn't that rather the purpose of debate and discussion?
Also, while maybe you haven't seen it to be the case, I don't know how much I can rely on your anecdotes given that you, yourself, are an atheist, giving you an evidently different perspective.
For Muslims in America, if it's a white person with Christian heritage, then I would indeed doubt their motives if they claim to believe in Allah. Atheists are like that; they're going against "tradition". It's not the same thing, though, since, as I said before, atheism does not inherently mean being rebellious, but my (very limited) experience has shown that atheists usually are. Meaning this is a specific thing against atheists, not a general "anyone who thinks differently is just going against the grain" argument.
Also, for the other point about my never having met calm atheists, that was hyperbole. If it hadn't mean, that would mean I'm indirectly calling you and others aggressive, which, even if I thought it were true, would be considered trolling. I'd never do that, :P.
