I was stating that high quality games help move a console, regardless of whether or not nintendo have them.

Why can't sony do amazing graphics at a reasonable price? Just because they are hurting financially does not mean there dead broke. They still have huge financial backing and capabilities to continue to make excellent technology and have stated multiple times that they will continue to invest in profitable sectors such as gaming.

And the wii showed us how having a weak console causes lack of third party support and how you can sell a console based around a gimmick.

I think Sony will have great visuals pcked in the PS4 - but I don't think it'll be as huge a leap as PS2 - PS3. I doubt SOny can afford to lose more than $100 per console (and probably not even that). They got more debt than they have in the bank...

A, but both the PS1 and PS2 were weakest of their gen, and sold tons!
