Sure, no signs are needed to believe that a man called Jesus existed, but to believe that he is the son of god and that he can walk on water and mindbend water into wine is quite the different story.

If you believe there was a dude named Alexander, you must also believe he was great. Meaning that you either accept entirely who Alexander claims he was or you don't believe in him at all. Same with Jesus you either believe the whole man or not. Or do you believe there was a man called Abraham Lincoln, but don't believe he was a US President? Or do you in fact need a sign, or need to see him walk on water for yourself?
