That's a pretty low budget, and it worries me a little. I think they're counting on the fact that they'll get considerably more than they are asking for. However, I really don't see why they even need a kickstarter. They are one of the best loved RPG studios in the world. Any publisher would be delighted to work with them. Bethesda would be delighted to work with them. Why do they need crowdfunding? |
Not on the type of game they want to make. That is what Kickstarter is perfect for

If they're using any of the post-game sales as development budget (and they have to, otherwise the game can't possibly deliver), they need someone to take that risk. A publisher or VC, for at least a few million. So then why aren't they taking ALL of that risk?
