What was that, a political speech? They took several paragraphs to say nothing at all.

Also, someone is going to need to prove to me that Bayonetta 2 was canceled. That makes no sense. If it was canceled, then it wouldn't be ready for the Wii U in such a short amount of time. All I can find are rumors, mostly having to do with SEGA not publishing it.

"Kamiya has since posted another Tweet saying "Game that hasn't been announced cannot be canceled,so I know Bayo 2 is safe in your mind-heart and around PG office". This is getting a bit out of hand." -- http://www.computerandvideogames.com/345910/bayonetta-2-cancelled-rumour-keep-an-eye-on-magazines-says-creator/

"Though this means Kamiya won't be directing the game, he is on board as a supervisor and revealed that work on Bayonetta 2 has been ongoing for some time. He explained, "We were secretly making one the entire time"" -- http://www.ign.com/articles/2012/09/14/bayonetta-2-devs-respond-to-exclusivity-criticism

The first game sold 2 million copies. The sequel was never canceled.

My guess is that Nintendo went shopping around a long time ago for a developer willing to sell exclusive publishing rights for an "adult" title to the highest bidder. With SEGA's logo also appearing, I'm betting that they got paid off, as well. SEGA is listed as an advisor, which probably means they played no part at all except to give up publishing rights. Usually there is a "first rights to sequel" clause.

"@FaseehDeen Bayonetta 2 is developed by Platinum Games and published by Nintendo. SEGA is working with both as an advisor to the project."

As far as I can see, this is about money over fans. If they needed the money, then I really don't have a problem with that. It's a business, after all. However, it breaks any feelings of loyalty, and I can definitely understand why many people are unhappy. That BS "explanation" certainly didn't help.

I'm not buying another console now. I have more than enough games to play between my PC and current consoles, and I'm sure I'm not the only one. I just hope Platinum thought this through, and that the cash from Nintendo is enough to make up for lower sales and the loss of people who once considered themselves loyal fans.
