Probably, because they don't care if they take losses the first years (even though Sony should start to care about it).

But that's how they see the business.

$50-100 losses is not a problem, Sony will only be in trouble if they get upto around $200 I think. Microsoft could afford to eat $200 if they really wanted to try and dominate Sony and maybe Nintendo.

I agree to a certain extent.

Microsoft can lose as much as they want, but in the case of Sony something around $50 (which should be easy to get back from games/peripherals) should be their max. $100 would be pushing things a bit too far.
