Disappointed with Wii U's ram. 1.5gb seemed low already... now 1gb for games? I refuse to believe people honestly think this is enough to get ports that aren't significantly dumbed down. We all seem to think 4gb is most likely for orbis/durango right? So games developed with 3-4gb of ram in mind (assuming some will be dedicated to OS) aren't going to struggle with 1gb?

PS3 and 360 have the same amount of ram, yet just the allocation of it on PS3 causes issues, so how is 4x less ram not going to cause serious issues?

Don't wanna express this opinion on the ninty section because if I do then I'm of course a troll or "doomsayer" and what not. I'm not shitting on the Wii U, it's a legit concern.

WiiU is out first, and likely out for 1.5 to 2 years.  Thats a lot of consoles sold before the competition even appears on the market.  Developers will develop multiplats for the lowest common denominator, just as they did in the PS2 era.  WiiU will define the next gen, not the other way around.

1yr. Other systems will launch in 2013. But yes the idea that WiiU's head start helps them with getting initial game development and 3rd party engines already build does allow for the idea that they will get good support even after the rest launches.

Again, I had read the most recent rumors that Microsofts outing won't be out until spring 2014.  That's approx 1.5 years.  PS4 isn't even on the horizon.  In any case, both consoles are conjecture because neither have actually even been shown, even in concept form.  The timetable for these consoles is completely unknown, but more likely to be farther away than closer.  We first saw WiiU at E3 last year.  Its coming out a year and a half after that.  If Microsoft or sony shows off their next console tomorrow, we can likely expect it a year to a year and a half after.  Unless they pull a Sega Saturn, and release the console a week after they tell anyone it even exists.
