You are not getting what I am saying. Over 1mill in sales is good for most games to break profit. Yet, a game that is capable of selling 10million does not WANT to sell 1million. Understand? 1.6million is a huge step DOWN from 4million. This is obviously showing something was wrong with the game or it's release to the developer. The point of making a sequel to an existing IP is that you want to tap into that fanbase that has dedicated themselves to it, as well as expand it. Selling less than half of what a previous game sold is NOT doing that. PS2 sales of the game were just as bad, but I could argue if it had just stayed exclusive to PS in the first place they would have sold the appropriate amount they did with half the effort. |
It's shipped. Unless they report figures from an external 3rd party tracking firm, it's always shipped. SEC rules.
And I think we're done here. You're arguing at me like I said the sales were fantastic and still ignoring the important fact that it was limited by the size of the install base which gave a very high install to ownership ratio. I'm not trying to tell you that shareholders are pleased with a high install to ownership ratio, merely that as a quantifiable unit of measure, it was very good. If you can't grasp that, move on.
