I mean it's an awesome game and pretty much the grandfather to EVERY SRPG not named Fire Emblem... but still... it rarely gets any respect. Usually left off the list because of it's bastardized cousin FF Tactics which "rips off" 80% of the game from Tactics Ogre and then imports the FFV class system. Am I the only one who thought FF Tactics battle system kind of sucked? I liked Tactic Ogre::LUCT and FF Tactic Advance WAY better. I would say Tactics Advance has my favorite system. The original simply has a phenomenal story to back it up.

I'd agree. FFT's battle system was broken. Some classes ruled, others were completely useless... and the challenge level of battles would shoot up and down dramtically.
Then once you got Cid... it was more or less game over unless you just didn't use him.
I like PSP's TO: LUCT system best when it comes to battle systems though.

LUCT basically has the same battle system as Tactics except 2 key things. The ability to rewind time and get a do over is a total life save(also I don't think the enemies gauge with you which was very annoying). Second the fact you only have to level up a class one time and every one of that class becomes that level. Cuts down on senseless grinding.
Advanced was still a bit cooler to me tho. The Judge Laws system was super fun. I loved tricking an enemy to break the law and get booted from the fight.

I hated the law system. It was a pointless addition to make the game harder. Never beat it because the last battle had nothing but monsters, and one of the laws was "don't attack monsters". Couldn't find an anti-law for it either. Fuck that game. How about we just kill the judge and then kill the monsters. We're also trying to overthrow the guy making the laws, so why are we following his stupid laws? Fuck that game.
