Was away for a few hours. Anyway, I wasn't really that surprised at how the iphone 5 turned out, besides the excellent A6 that was included. The rumors all had signs pointing to a die shrunk, slightly higher clocked A5.
I was really surprised at how much they improved the iPod touch from the previous version. Last years iPod touch update was "you can now buy it in White!" which wasn't impressive at all. They improved it so much this year and it looks really fantastic. I was planning on giving my iPhone 4 to my girlfriend when I get my iPhone 5, but I've changed my mind and I'm going to get her the new iPod touch instead, (she wouldn't have used it as a phone anyway.)
I guess I'm lucky that the yen is strong, so Apple has priced their products slightly lower here in Japan compared to the USA (to make up for the exchange rate difference.)
The 32GB new iPod touch will be priced at 24,800 yen (tax included), which is pretty much the same price as the Playstation Vita (WiFi model).
This should be a huge improvement over her old (3rd gen) iPod touch. (specs comparable to the iPhone 3gs) Plus it has a decent 5MP camera while her old one had no camera. (the 0.67MP camera on the 4th gen iPod touch was garbage.)
Oh and the ipod touch is now using the same screen as the iphone. They are both IPS, which is great compared to the older TN screens on the ipod touch.
