Well, it depends on what route Nintendo take, but their latest move tried to compensate for exchange rates and these remain unfavourable.

15000 / 170 = 88 yen to dollar ratio.

If they follow the same ratio as current 3DS prices:

26250 / 88 = $298.

And why else make it 26260 instead of 24990? With the same ratio the price is almost exactly $299, so I think that's what they're going for, otherwise it seems too coincidental.

I could be totally wrong of course.

It's not a question of dollar ratio, imo. More like "unwritten" rules of price convertion for systems.

Vita 3G is 30.000 and it's 300 dollars. 26.000 would be crazy if converted to 300 too.

But Nintendo is breaking this unwritten rule with 3DS already, so I just applied the same logic (ratio) they themselves are using.

They are a conservative company that wants to be safe against current horrible exchange rates.

Don't know, we'll know soon enough. Just my hunch.

Edit: just to complete the info. the 31.500 model would result in $358 with the same ratio as 3DS. I just guessed that would go down to a round 349, unless they decide to go for $359 for a tidy extra profit.
