Like some on this thread, I don't think comparing a phone to a handheld gaming device is a good idea. comparing their sales is not too. Apple is on its peak now while Sony has declined in brand name quite a bit.
My point is, yes you can compare hardwares as they both are mobile devices, but don't go further. Leave them for their distinct markets.
