Because anonymous posters on webforums claiming to be industry insiders are more reliable than public statement by a company and press releases? http://www-03.ibm.com/press/us/en/pressrelease/34683.wss "The all-new, Power-based microprocessor will pack some of IBM's most advanced technology into an energy-saving silicon package that will power Nintendo's brand new entertainment experience for consumers worldwide. IBM's unique embedded DRAM, for example, is capable of feeding the multi-core processor large chunks of data to make for a smooth entertainment experience." Remember, the Wii was based on the PowerPC architecture not the Power architecture. Believing this rumour is a sign that you're willing to believe (just about) anything as long as it is negative about the Wii U. |
Because I disagree with you obviously means "I'll believe anything as long as it is negative". Obviously. Or maybe we just happen to disagree. Also, I fail to see in that press release the part where it says Power7. Maybe you can point that out. And of course no inside source has ever leaked true information before... not even when it was revealed prematurely that Project Cafe would have a touch screen controller. Leave the leaks to the industry professionals, of course.
But you've missed my point entirely. Going back to my original post I said that a rumor is just a rumor, and we won't know exactly what kind of hardware the Wii U is made of until a consumer buys one and busts it open. You happen to be the only one between us that is saying with no doubt what kind of guts the console has. So obviously you can provide pictures of some sort? Nope, just going by a rumor. Rumors = potential truths... they're all worth nothing until proven right. Just because I've said that I think one rumor might be right over another is far different from saying that I know the truth. And what I'm leaning toward isn't even a negative rumor.
So let's hold onto these ideas for when we get actual facts handed to us after launch. Although conversing with you has been such a pleasure.
