I love how so many people are talking about previously 'confirmed' specs. Those were old rumors that were repeated over and over so they became 'fact'. And somehow because those old rumors were different from this new one, that the current rumor is automatically 'fake'... even though we're very close to launch, and the specs would seem to match the capabilities of the machine from what we've seen so far. These are the most realistic numbers that have dropped, and I'm inclined to think that it's pretty spot on.

Also, for all the people waiting for Nintendo to confirm the specs.... Nintendo has never confirmed specs, and there's no reason to think that will change. You'll be waiting until the end of time.

We'll know for sure how close this rumor is to the real thing after Wii U launches and it's busted open.

Yeah, IBM is know for making shit up about projects they were working on ...

I bet they got a big LOL out of trolling Nintendo fans by claiming that the Wii U would use a Power7 processor.

It's important to pay attention to the most consistent rumors sometimes, and realize that even a guy from IBM can be wrong.  Like I said before, these specs are most likely pretty spot on.

Because anonymous posters on webforums claiming to be industry insiders are more reliable than public statement by a company and press releases?

"The all-new, Power-based microprocessor will pack some of IBM's most advanced technology into an energy-saving silicon package that will power Nintendo's brand new entertainment experience for consumers worldwide. IBM's unique embedded DRAM, for example, is capable of feeding the multi-core processor large chunks of data to make for a smooth entertainment experience."

Remember, the Wii was based on the PowerPC architecture not the Power architecture. Believing this rumour is a sign that you're willing to believe (just about) anything as long as it is negative about the Wii U.

OUCH...THE SHAPE JUST GOT OWWWNEED!!! LOL  serves him right
