if you have the slightest interest in huge numbers and strategy (and you can laugh about intentionally lame jokes and continous fourth-wall breaking), go for disgaea.
i dont like strategy rpg's, but that game is (post-story) just as addicting as WoW was to me some time ago (I mean you'll grind an awful lot, but its satisfying as heck when you deal millions of damage for the first time... and yes to veterans, millions is abysmally low, but i am only like 80 hours in. 
)
