And it was pretty recent that IBM made it clear it was a Power7 CPU.    The 3DS financial issue happened well over a year and the fault was simply a high margin and poor foreign exchange rate rather than a costly CPU.

True. IBM did state only a month or so ago through Twitter that it was still Power7... i.e. Watson's technology.
