“Fuck you. That’s all I have to say to you guys.”

That’s one of many angry comments left on Terraria’Facebook page today after its developers announced that they’ll be bringing the game to XBLA and PSN.

Having hinted at a big update yesterday, tiny indie studio Re-Logic revealed that their previously PC-only adventure would be arriving “soon” on consoles – but it’s sparked ire among many fans of the PC version.

Re-Logic previously announced that they would be stopping development on Terraria and moving on to work on a future project. The original version of Terraria hasn’t received updates for a while, and so many have taken this announcement to mean that the new console version will receive all the attention, and that the PC original will still be left to die a death.

Perhaps this is true – though the console version is being handled by two different companies:Engine Software on development duties, and 505 Games as publisher.

But over on the game’s forum, players are suggesting that Andrew “Redigit” Spinks, the man behind Terraria and Re-Logic, was dishonest in his reasons for not keeping all his promises with regards to PC version updates – and that his PR techniques have “damaged the community” in recent months.

Users are questioning his claims that family matters kept him away from development of the game if he was able to work with others on a console version.

Meanwhile, other fans felt that they were investing in an ongoing project with the PC version, and are angry that “our money” is being used to fund a console port instead.

Re-Logic haven’t announced any details about the new version. Yet.
