i swear, all you EVER do i repeat yourself. you post ^^that so many times. i mean, obviously nintendo has absolutely no big upcoming games thatcould very well counter the boost in sales those games will give... /sarcasm |
What he doesn't understand is that games are only a boost for a few weeks and ultimately do not change the pace of the console in the long term unless it is an absolutely huge game like a Halo 3, GTA IV, and I would actually say Brawl is on the lower end of games big enough to make a difference.
Even the Halo 3s, GTA IVs, etc only have a minor impact on the long term. So while the PS3 might do well during those launch weeks its not going to even get it on par with the Wii for that week unless they find another way to raise sales.
Price drops, deals, and bundles will have longer lasting effects on sales than a game release but even then I think the most bullish PS3 supporter understands that the Wii sales need to come down because there is simply no chance that the PS3 will ever have a year where its median for weekly sales is 249k or its average weekly sales are 316k. So not only do those games need to have a huge effect like he wants and believes they will but the Wii will also have to faulter and drop in sales a decent amount...which is of course something folks have been saying is about to happen for quite a while now.
