The answer:
2 genres (FPS & TPS) in the top 6 for 360. All 6 games pretty much appeal to the same demographic. It's a Halo and Gears sausage fest.
4 Genres (racing sim, action/adventure, platformer, action) in the top 6 for PS3 all appealing to very different gamer demographics.
Outside the top 6 things start to even out a bit more. 360 still getting higher sales but not massively so.
