The original Crysis: still the best looking game ever?

Although its been commonly accepted that Crysis 2 is visually better than 1...the way the game is designed is a step back compared to the first one that makes all of the visual gains of the second seem less impactful.

I actually see and hear it the other way around from plenty of people. I can tell you that Crysis 2 was a universally accepted let-down for many people, however (pre-hi-res texture pack, that is).

Initially it was...but after the major update it really got back some of the recognition it had lost. Once that released a lot of the tech gurus from magazines and websites clearly stated that crysis 2 had the edge.
