While Sony should indeed do all of that, I don't think even those 5 things (or added grilling power) will be enough to make it truly successful.

The market is changing. iOS/Android/F2P gaming has changed the paradigm and Sony would be foolish to ignore that. Very soon you'll have multiple Android devices with controllers, and if that should prove successful (and I strongly suspect it will) much more advanced games will pour onto Android and soon after Apple devices.

Home consoles must offer an experience that those systems cannot, which appeals - TO THE MASS MARKET and justifies paying the cost of a console plus console games (not that hard, we were spending insane amounts for Rock Band not long ago).

The core market is incredibly expensive to develop for on this gen's tech, let alone next gen's. It's becoming harder and harder to make money off them (look at THQ) and all indicators are the 'middle' of the market IE: the soft-core are drifting to tablets and F2P. Casuals are there already in spades. If Sony tries to live off the hard core gamers alone, they will be a trouble. Even if PS4 is THE core system, it'll be in a shrinking market that will be very hard to profit from.

Sony needs to win the masses back with something revolutionary. Nintendo is trying with their gamepad (I think this is a stupid mistake, it makes WiiU look like a poor man's Apple to the casual observer), MS will try with a much refined Kinect and maybe some sort of virtual reality. Sony must introduce some tech that must be experienced on a propritory home console (not just on TV) that grabs peoples imagination like Wii and Kinect did.

Move could be that tech but they'd need to do a MUCH better job with it than they have on PS3.
