The video basically questions (pretty harshly) a number of decisions that Sony has made regarding the PSVita with the claim that people wouldn't pirate if their service was better.

Watch the video, and discuss if you agree with him

- Does Sony have a problem with customer relations

yes, marketing in general is a problem for them. somehow even the most incredibly, awesomely, consumer benefiting ideas (like cross-buy) are still critisized.

- Did they handle the PS1 game situation badly, or are gamers feeling too entitled here?

for americans, i'll agree that it's weird that other regions got more games early on.  ..but the fact is that sony never made any promises how how ps1 games would be delivered.  sony america has choosen to pad their weak release schedule by having a drip feed of ps1 games.  best business decision?  i dunno.   but..  vita will still get the games just as promised.  for a feature that (in all honesty) is non-critical and still being delivered ... i'm going to go with gamer entitlement.

- Is the true way to combat piracy "to provide a better service than the pirates"?

good luck with that.  sony/nintendo/ms have to abide by laws that pirates frequenty don't.  true, the wii can be "unlocked" to enable dvd playback but the consortium had their IP infringed upon to do so.  same with nintendo games on the psp.  when the standard for "better service" is free and illegal legitimate companies will never compete.

for things that are not IP infringments (just menu layouts or whatever) remember that sony/nintendo/ms are a multi-national corporations that have QC standards to uphold.  homebrew is often buggy and lacks the multi-national communication channels process that is inheret in a large company.  of course they are going to move slower.

- Should we stop posting things from Jim Sterling?

yes.

in conclusion.  i didn't watch the video.
