I've been posting primairly on other sites to actually talk about games, because sustained conversation here borders on impossible unless you're willing to carry the conversation entirely by yourself. The biggest posters now have next to no attention span and are happier in contention than they are in talking about the things they enjoy.

Thats actually quite right ,nobody here really likes to talk about games (be it gameplay or whatever) just look at the threads about it they are usually the least posted in

I disagree. If you give a game an "official" thread, and it's A: a game people around here play in significant numbers and B: the kind of game you can discuss (Platformers like Mario, for instance, don't garner too much discussion, because they are just meant to be played), then you can get some good stuff going. Look at the Xenoblade thread, huge and long-enduring. The Last Story thread is having a bit more trouble, but that's because of the incredibly staggered release (for Europeans, its "been there, done that" by now)

Borderlands 2 will likely be a good locus of discussion when it emerges, being the kind of game that you can talk about and the kind of game that (according to Salnax's Most Wanted threads) people around here are actually going to buy.
