Sims 3 and Spore are about 3-4 years old aren't they?
Generally you can go as basic as possible on any specs apart from the graphics card and your machine will probably be able to play most games of today on minimum specs. Given that the graphics card in your link is dedicated (as opposed to mine which is an integrated chipset) you will probably be able to play the vast majority of games made up to 2012.
As an example my laptop is a very basic model Dell Inspiron which doesn't have a dedicated graphics card... bought in 2008... and it is still capable of playing some 2007/8 games.
