As a guy who prefers Sony to the others, i bought the 3Ds and im quite satisfied, but then again i have only bought 3 games since I bought it in April. and two of those are Marios. Honestly if all you care about is Mario and Pokemon, I would hold off on getting a 3ds for now, especially since it is region locked. I have Vita as well and its a good system, bough four games since buying it back in May. That might be more up your ally with the store and cross buy and what not and its not region locked, but i would still say wait on that one too.
