Does the WiiU's Gamepad have more potential than the Wiimote?

Any game that doesn't involve aiming is better played on a regular wired controller, because with motion controls you have to play with a wireless controller that does have lag (a wired wiimote is obviously a bad idea).

I never experienced any noticeable lag when playing motion controlled games on my wii (like skyward sword or redsteel 2) do you have a specific example?
