Since you like to argue and I'm bored, I came back.

You say that sales don't seem to matter. So that throws that whole side of things out of the window. Nintendo's amazing sales, the phenomenal sales of Wii Sports, Mario Kart, NSMB Wii, etc. Doesn't matter because guys like you and I don't care about "Sales this and high sales that". Glad we've established that little rule.

So, with sales out of the equation, tell me what genres the PS2 didn't have covered? Maybe the Wii catered to casuals better than the PS2 (and the totally unique new interface didn't hurt things, either). The PS2 catered to the hardcore, the graphics whore, the online gamer, the sports fan, etc. better than the Wii, right? So if the PS2 wasn't for everybody......maybe the Wii wasn't for everybody. It got this new audience but many feel that the new audience won't stick around.

Another thing to consider (as I'm replying to a lot of things you've posted and they're all just smooshed together in my head right now): You talk about the dismal performance of the PS3 following the stellar performance of the PS2. There were a lot of factors that contributed to the PS3's lackluster performance. What if Nintendo launches a new platform called the Wii U and it fails to match the Wii's success? Will that suddenly make the Wii a failure lol?
