You seem hell-bent (judging by the fact that you basically quoted the entire thread) on proving the PS2 wasn't anything special. I can dig that. However, the system did something no other console has. We can down-size it, make excuses, or accept it. 

And what has it done that no one else has? Im dying to hear this so i can name things other consoles have done that it hasnt. Im not making excuses, im telling the truth about your precious Ps2. You just dont want to accept it got extremely lucky. If it didnt get lucky, why has no other Sony platform after it been even close to as successful as it.

At least we agree that my PS2 is precious (though I'd say the same for any of my consoles that I worked hard to own - which would nearly be all of them). :P

All seriousness, many said the Wii got lucky (which I'm inclined to agree, ever so slightly), but I'd be crazy to down-play what it accomplished this gen and where it put Nintendo. I see a similar situation with the PS2 (though hardly anyone would argue that Sony royally f*ed up with its younger sibling).

As for explanations, there isn't a need to go back over what many have reasonably tried to explain to you. In fact, one has to wonder why you created a thread seeking opinions and then battle every single person who's differs from yours, claiming all who disagree are wrong. Makes no sense.

What have they tried to explain? You guys have explained nothing and have provided no proof but high sells this and high sells that. The games that sold well came from hardcore games, so no what you have done is continued to fail, maybe because its time to accept it didnt do shit for the casuals. Eye toy should have done much better and yes obviously i like to argue.
