Your case is anecdotal, however (as are many stories here). Still, overall, it's hard to argue that the PS2 was the go-to console, and in many ways, much more than the Wii has been.

What is your point lol, the PS2 had no competition, the Wii created a buzz completely unheard of. the ps2 wasnt sold out for almost 3 years lol. It was the console gamers flocked to, not what the casuals flocked to. The Wii created an market the PS2 dominated a market that already existed so yes the Wii was more of a go to console than the PS2 could ever dream of.
