I don't care one way or the other regarding the way they choose to do business, but as game developers I can't stand them. They've never made a game that worked the way it's supposed to on launch day, and just because they're big games is no excuse for it. That's like selling a Hummer that breaks down every 10 miles. They won't ever see a dime out of me after the atrocity that was Oblivion for the PS3 (It sucked for 360 and PC too, but I'm told it was less buggy).
