Note to self, never mention ponies in VG Chartz again '_'

What's the deal with that show?

I believe the show (now a web series) is done by the group did the Powerpuff Girls, so the writing and animation are actually good for it.  It has an ability to reach out beyond the normal demographic.  Beyond that, after a breakthrough on 4Chan, it went viral with the producers of the series encouraging people to produce spin off fan content.  Well, here is a Know Your Meme video on what happened:

It's not a web series. It's a TV show, just featured on a new, and still obscure channel (at least in the USA. In some countries Nick Jr or Cartoon Network carry it). In the US, it's on the channel that replaced Discovery Kids, called HUB. The obscurity of the channel means that a great many bronies have only ever seen the series online, either via iTunes or less legal means. and is developed by Lauren Faust, who is married to Craig McCracken, creator of Powerpuff Girls and Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends (and she herself did some writing for the former and often served as Director on the latter), and has a few other veterans of Cartoon-Cartoons era CN Studios (or the illustrious Hannah Barbara of the 90s), like Rob Renzetti.

I was under the impression Hub was like ESPN 3, and was Web based.  I stand corrected.  I do believe, primarily, that the network is watched on the web though.
