A FFVIII remake would indeed be pretty darn awesome, since there are a lot of moments in the game that would indeed be glorious in HD, like the attack on Edea on Galbaldia, getting the Ragnarok, the Lunar Cry event, etc. 

I think it won't be very much longer before they start planning remakes of the post Nintendo-era FFs, especially if they release the 3DS remake versions of FFV and FFVI (which they're probably making at this moment) in the next couple of years.

Edit - Talking about FFs, did someone get the newest version of FFVII for PC? From what I've read across the net (and on the official site itself) is that there has been a lot of problems with the Cloud (ROFL) save system and the achievements themselves.
