If you ask a girl if you are"texting too much" you are. You are looking clingy and desperate. Until you are dating a girl, try not to text them very much at all. It is best to try and do most of your interactions face to face. Be cocky in a funny way. Check out.. David Deangelo or Doc Love. These two give some very good advise on how to treat women to build interest and keep it.
