A higher-priced PS3 would not have fared well compared to the Nintendo Wii, especially if both had similar characteristics. HD was not the big seller in 2006 than it is now, so a $150 difference would have made a big difference.

And the lack of graphical prowess would have either (a) cost the PS3 third-party games or (b) forced third parties to release dumbed-down versions which means they decided to go ahead and also cheaply port to the Wii. So either the PS3 gets fewer games or its cheaper competitor gets the same games.

Also, the problem with the Move is that it is too exact. Given the forgiving nature of the Wii remote, those looking for a casual experience would have had much more fun with Wii compared to their PS3 Move counterparts.

I am Mario.

I like to jump around, and would lead a fairly serene and aimless existence if it weren't for my friends always getting into trouble. I love to help out, even when it puts me at risk. I seem to make friends with people who just can't stay out of trouble.
