It has the roll feature on the d pad right? This might be better for some games such as Street Fighter (like shooting a fireball). I tend to like d pads like the Wiimote or dual shock. I just wanted to know why the d pad on the 360 sucked so bad since I have very little play experience on the xbox. |
The d-pad is not even close to as accurate on the old 360 controllers and the ones I own. If you are not perfectly precise on every punch of the directional pad it can often perform the wrong action and mess you up which of course is the worst in a d-pad heavy game fighting genre. The worst cases I would see were in COD were you need to be quick and doing one wrong action means a loss in multiplayer. Also, in Metro 2033 the D-pad was used a lot and it had some glitches. Making switching from the flashlight to the gun a terrible, terrible headache. These are other things that have been the worst on the d-pad, but I can remember other less annoying situations the horrible d-pad messed me up. The new 360 controller has fixed the d-pad.
That stated, I actually prefer the 360 controller now that they do not make AC battery only controllers. It is a snug fit in my man hands. Still, the PS3 and 360 controller are almost the same controller and so will be the Wii U's non-tablet controller. Only minor differences really.
