Same thing that happened to me with SC2.  I played the beta and I didn't want anything to do with the game.  Although I did come in with a little hate considering they wanted to split it up into 3 different releases which I was against.  Apparently, Blizzard should stop having betas.

Funny, I didn't buy Starcraft 2 either after the Beta, but not because I think it's bad. I just couldn't justify the cost for the admittedly awesome single player campaign alone since I suck really hard at competitive RTS games. I played the campaign on my little brothers account so I had my time with the game. Best RTS campaign ever.

Wow so the campaign is pretty decent. I tried to come up with other RTS campaigns to compare it  but I couldn't come up with many.  I liked the Command & Conquer 1 storyline  but not sure if that can even compare to SC1.    The main reason why I didn't buy SC2 was because I saw no reason to.  If anything it was me falling out of touch with Blizzard.  I just expected too much.
