It's a thing, but there are explanations for it other than "omg, war on womens!" And it almost vanishes when you control for choices like leaving a job to have a kid.

also if the pay gap was true, why wouldnt every employer hire only women? i mean they could save 30%!!

it would make zero economic sense to hire men.
