But the bigger new her is the loss of liverpool. There may be no need to worry, they could take all the top people from that studio and place them under another development house and keep wipe out going. The game would remain the same and it might save Sony some bucks. But man i'll miss that splash screen popping up. Seeing liverpool at the begging of the game assures quality. I really to pay homage to one the the greatest studios that ever was. I was thinking about making a tread about it. If anyone would like to help it would be great. But maybe for a week we could all run Wipeout on our vitas and PS3 24/7 Logged on just to let sony know how we feel about it. It would be great if we could get a a good amount of people to do it. It might send a message to Sony. What do you guys think?

I'll be sitting around in the HD/Fury online servers for the next few days, at the very least.

I genuinely hope this isn't the end for WipEout, but I can't see Sony giving it any attention in the near future.  It'll probably be shelved like SOCOM.

And tbh, I'm not sure I'd like anyone else to tackle the series.  SCE Liverpool had it down perfectly.  The image, the history of anti-grav racing, the soundtrack, the graphics, the track design, the gameplay - everything.  Something would be lost in the process, I'm sure.

Aside from that though, it's definitely a sad day for Sony.  WipEout was Playstation.  It's been there on every single console they've made.  It definied the image they followed for generations.

Generally, though, it's just a sad day for gaming.  Psygnosis were such a huge part of the industry for such a long time.  Even though they're technically gone, they did live on in Studio Liverpool, and now that last link is gone. :(

I know your sig came from IGN, but do you mind if i copy it? We should show support for these guys anyway we can.
