There was a Saturn and N64 version both developed by Psygnosis, but after those it went Sony exclusive.

I don't know about the Saturn version, but I remember a comotion in EGM after that Wipeout 64 game was announced. I never knew, but Wipeout was a very symbolic game for PS1 even back then.
