Playing a video game is nothing like driving a real car. Sorry Forza/GT fans.

have you driven a RACE car before?

there is a difference between a road car and a race car you know.

Forza and GT have road cars, you can use these to do a comparison.

Legal road cars have too many assists and traction controls added to them and also a bit of weight, and airbags ...etc so that they can be safe, on races they remove all these.

Isn't the weight in GT the official weight values given by Nissan, Toyota, etc?

Removing airbags, and unnecesary stuff is what the reduce weight upgrades do. If you do a lap with the stock car...

Anyway, comparison video (without asists in both), GT4 vs real life (same car, track, etc):

1.41 in the game, 1.57 in real life.

It would be better in GT5, but still...

All in all, fear does not affect you when playing a game and in an actual car.
