I don't know.  From what i hear that policy does gangbusters for Valve.

Then again, thinking about it, i guess it does make a little more sense for them since there are stores and other digital distribution methods.

This is why I never pretend to understand business and the likes, because 9/10 when someone does or says something that seems stupid to me seems to make sense from a business stand point.

Now that I think about it, the "Buy Portal 2 on ps3 and get it free on Steam" deal is how I became a PC gamer...

Valve does seem to be freaking wizards with this stuff.

Apparently whenever they offer those super cheap "Buy this game for under $5" deals, the sales of the game are UP instead of down the day after the sale.

Due to word of mouth I suppose.

Consumer psychology can be pretty complicated.
