Yeah, because no console gamer ever touched a PC. I don't know what you consider the average tech guy, but my mom for example is not a tech guy and she works with a PC 8 - 10 hours a day. Windows 8 won't make her a console gamer though.
The Windows 8 feedback was overwhelming so far.

Who exactly said that no console gamer knows how a PC works? And btw just because YOU have a PC and a console doesnt mean all people have. I do know enough people who dont have a PC but a consoele which proves my point. Yeah your mom is clearly the average mom lol (am arsch :) )
Btw You do understand that "the less experienced people NOT the average tech guy" means NOT the average tech guy?
The thing is If windows8 for PC and the next xbox would have/be the same OS people that will buy the new xbox will automatically have very basic knowledge of windows 8 and people who will have a Windows8 PC will automatically also have basic knowledge of the xbox especially when it comes to "where are the system settings etc. how to I find out XY etc." As long as they have the same user interface/ changeable interfaces- This is exactly the reason microsoft makes everything now have the metro style. Phones consoles PC etc. People should feel right at home when they have all a new device with Win8 / metro.

I also downloaded the preview/beta versions and its total shit. But the PC users they lose get replaced with console users. At least its a smart move to help consolero's to get in touch with PC and vice versa they remove the issue of learning how to use different devices by making phones PCs and consoles run Win8. (of course Im talking about the less experiences people here not the average tech guy) |
What garbage.
There is so much misunderstanding of the metro interface and what's available behind it.

Even if whos fault is it? Microsofts!
And btw your reply is garbage because you clearly dont understand what I said right?
And who are you to doubt that I HAVE NEVER HEARD OF A PERSON WHO LIKES WIN8? Nobody I know likes it end of story. Hell even important people in the video game Industry say Win8 is a catastrophe etc.
I downloaded the first preview version of win8 and it was crap. The newer preview versions might be awesome I certainly wont know because I dont see any reason to test them or to have another "OS change"anytime soon. If you like it good for you I don't.
BTW. "they can sell Win8 with every xbox" and " PC users they lose get replaced with console users" is sarcasm in case you cant see it.

nerd rage?
The part of the audience who do not have a PC or access to a PC, but own a console is sooo tiny. I even doubt they exist. PCs with all its form factors these days are basically everywhere. Laptops, Netbooks, desktop pcs, tablets, cell phones etc. Who in the western world does not have a PC or access to a PC? 5%? 8%? and how many of those people own a next gen gaming system? Probably less than 0.1%.
Btw: I liked Windows 8. Now you know one.
This one still puzzles me:

I replied: And my mom is a less experienced PC user. She is not the average tech guy. She will not pick up a Xbox 3 though. That was my point.
You answer with:
"You do understand that "the less experienced people NOT the average tech guy" means NOT the average tech guy?"
...
I don't even get your point.
