Lol yeah it's a mess. You guys are incredible, what a weird view of things you have. In what way is being forced to give stuff away free not a mess for a commercial organisation? And so far AT BEST only 4% of PS3 owners also own a Vita ( at best ) so the market is tiny for this anyway.
When Nintendo reduced the price of the 3DS it was desperate and embarrassing according to many sony fans here. Now Sony give stuff away for free and it's a considered and intelligent response, not in any way desperate or messy.

No weird view mate, people (you) rail on Sony for releasing a system that doesn't sell and not supporting it with enough content or doing anything much so far to 'save' it, and then when Sony finally implement a strategy to try to increase hardware sales, people use it as another cheap opportunity to rail on them once again for having to implement the strategy in the first place.
Don't try and spin it into something else, you'll take any oppurtunity to shit on them that you can take, that's how you are and everyone knows it. They cut the price? Now, as for the 3ds price cut, it's nice of you to mention something about us 'Sony fans' as if we're a hivemind, but I'll certainly call it a desperate move if Sony decides to cut the price and fall into a half a billion dollar loss, yes. As it is, they're losing revenue from the few people that would buy both versions of the game, while incentivising current PS3 owners to buy the hardware by owning content for the system already, as well as pushing a small number people to buy the game as they see the added value for their future Vita purchase. Whatever though, this is a Vita thread so it's a great excuse to be as negative as possible about Sony and remind all the hivemind of Sony fans here what your position is on their product. As if we couldn't already guess.

Wrong. You opening paragraph is not where I came from with my view of Vita. I've been consistent, others haven't.
What I said way back was that it was pretty much DOA because it was the wrong product at the wrong time at a stupid price. Nothing to do with support since launch, I actually think it launched with decent amount of software support and I have said so, you will have ignored that post. I said it was massively over priced and it's focus as a home console on the move is the wrong focus.
Others said it was worth it, but unfortunately the price point is more important than the perceived value in the cold light of day. Throw in the emergence of alternative mobile gaming opportunities and there is really only room for one dedicated handheld, soon it will be none. Nintendo stands a chance because they "get" mobile gaming. Sony didn't get it with PSP and it's continued with PSV.
I report financial news mainly, you and others might see me taking a shit on them at every opportunity, but thats the way it's been for the last 4 years financially. Some of the responses here to the reporting says more about them than me. I usually report it quite coldly, then a shit storm of cry baby responses ensues. Take it up with Bloomberg.

Don't flatter yourself, my issue isn't your opinion of mobile gaming as a whole or just the threads you create, it's the constant, consistent, railing of Sony that you can and will take at every oppurtunity.
